TLDR - We’re migrating our servers on Saturday December 10th, between 4:00 and 9:00 ET. TestMonitor will be temporarily unavailable during that period.
We recently celebrated the release of TestMonitor 7. Since then, our development team has been working hard behind the scenes to create a brand new server infrastructure. The purpose is to provide better scalability, performance and redundancy. Here’s a closer look at what we’re working on.
We’re going to migrate our servers to DigitalOcean, which will provide up to 5x faster performance. The servers will also be ISO certified, also SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II and PCI-DDS (read more)
For our European customers: Your data will remain safely stored in Amsterdam, ensuring GDPR compliance. (read more)
We’ve enhanced our server architecture to include load balancing, multiple web servers and queue workers. These elements will make it easier to scale up and handle more traffic simultaneously. We’ve also improved our backup strategy, allowing us to do Point-in-Time recoveries (PITR).
In the last few years, our customer base has been growing rapidly. As we continue to grow, we want to ensure our infrastructure is scalable, without resorting to just upgrading to a bigger server. With a vertical scaling strategy, we employ multiple smaller servers with dedicated roles, gaining performance and better redundancy at the same time.
We’re migrating our servers on Saturday December 10th, between 4:00 and 9:00 ET. TestMonitor will be temporarily unavailable during that period.
Note: Our DNS settings will be changed: these changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate. Usually it only takes an hour or less, though.
This is the good part: we take care of everything! Your domain name will remain the same and your TestMonitor account will remain right where you left it.
